This guide explains how to purchase a phone number inside the Dapta platform and link it to one of your Voice Agents.
Once connected, whenever someone calls that phone number, your assigned agent will automatically answer the call.
What Buying a Phone Number Allows You To Do
When you purchase a phone number inside Dapta:
The number becomes part of your account
You can assign it to a Voice Agent
When someone calls that number, the assigned agent answers
The number can be used for both voice calls and SMS
Step 1: Navigate to Phone Numbers
Go to Voice Agents
Click on Phone Numbers
Click on Buy Phone Number
You will be redirected to the phone number marketplace.
Step 2: Choose a Phone Number
You will see a list of available phone numbers.
Currently:
All available numbers are based in the United States
You can search by:
City
Area code
Specific digits
If you are outside the US (for example, in Latin America), you can contact Customer Support to request assistance with international number setup.
Cost of a Phone Number
Each phone number costs:
1,380 credits per month
This amount will be deducted from the credits included in your plan.
Before purchasing, you will see a summary of the monthly charge.
Step 3: Buy the Number
Click Buy
Review the purchase summary
Confirm by clicking Buy Number
The number will immediately appear in your list of purchased phone numbers.
Step 4: Assign the Phone Number to an Agent
After purchasing the number:
Select the phone number
Choose the Voice Agent you want to assign it to
Click Save Changes
The phone number is now linked to that agent.
Testing the Phone Number
Once assigned:
Call the newly purchased phone number
The assigned Voice Agent will answer the call
The conversation will follow that agent’s configured script and behavior
This confirms the number is successfully connected.
Reassigning a Phone Number to a Different Agent
If you want to change which agent answers the phone:
Go to Phone Numbers
Click Actions
Select Edit
Choose a different agent from the dropdown list
Save changes
The phone number will now be connected to the newly selected agent.
