β Verifying an Existing Phone Number for Outbound Calls
This guide explains how to verify an existing phone number inside Dapta so your Voice Agent can make outbound calls using that number.
This is useful for use cases such as:
Cold calling
Meeting reminders
Appointment confirmations
Follow-up calls
Outbound campaigns
Once verified, your AI agent can place calls from your own phone number instead of a system-generated number.
What Verification Does
Verifying a phone number allows Dapta to:
Confirm that you own the phone number
Grant permission to use it for outbound calls
Assign it to one or more Voice Agents
After verification, your agent can make calls that appear to come directly from that number.
Step 1: Go to Phone Numbers
Navigate to the Voice Agents tab
Click on Phone Numbers
Click on New Phone Number
Select the option Verify Phone Number
This will begin the verification process.
Step 2: Enter Phone Details
You will be asked to:
Provide a name for the phone number (for internal identification)
Enter the phone number you want to verify
After entering the information, click Verify.
Step 3: Complete Phone Verification
Once you click Verify:
You will receive an automated phone call
The system will provide a verification code
You must enter the code using your phone keypad
After entering the code successfully, you will hear a confirmation message stating that the phone number has been validated.
At this point, the phone number is officially verified and ready to use.
Step 4: Confirm the Number is Verified
After verification:
Refresh the page
Go to your Verified tab under Phone Numbers
You should see your newly verified phone number listed
You will also see the creation date
This confirms the phone number is active and connected to your account.
Assigning the Verified Number to an Agent
After verification, you can assign the phone number to a Voice Agent.
To do this:
Go to one of your Voice Agents
Click on Phone Call
Select the verified phone number
Enter the destination phone number
Click Start Phone Call
The call will now be placed from your verified number, but handled by your AI agent.
Testing the Call (No Credits Used)
When using the Test Call feature:
The agent will place a call
The verified number will appear as the caller
The AI agent will handle the conversation
No credits are consumed during test calls
This is useful for validating:
Voice tone
Script flow
Confirmation logic
Call behavior
Important Note About Campaigns
Test calls are only for validation.
If you want to:
Call a full database of leads

Automate reminder calls at scale
