# Workspaces

Switch between workspaces from the left menu, create a new one, and use Account settings to open or manage any workspace you belong to: rename it, read its Workspace ID and understand the Current and

A workspace is a separate space with its own forms, members, brand kit and integrations. Your Dapta Forms workspaces are the same workspaces you use in the rest of Dapta, so whatever you belong to there is already waiting for you here.

***

## Switch workspace from the left menu

**Step 1:** Click the workspace name at the top of the left menu. The menu lists every workspace you can reach, with a check mark next to the one you are in.

<figure><img src="https://3835013762-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FCy5rSNtQmtqYCGzJlNEB%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-4fee5835040625d512dce27a1ecc57bb59d89d7e%2Fforms-workspaces-01-switcher.png?alt=media" alt="The workspace switcher open in the left menu, showing the Find a workspace box, the list of workspaces with a check mark on the current one and New workspace at the bottom"><figcaption><p>The switcher: type to find a workspace, click one to move into it, or create a new one.</p></figcaption></figure>

* Once you belong to six workspaces or more, a **Find a workspace** box appears at the top. Type part of the name to filter the list. If nothing matches you get **No workspace matches that.**
* Clicking a workspace switches into it and reloads the page. Your forms, submissions and integrations change with it.
* **New workspace** at the bottom opens the creation dialog (see below).

> **⚠️ Note:** You are always working inside exactly one workspace. Before you create or publish a form, check the name at the top of the left menu so the form lands where you expect.

***

## Create a workspace

**Step 2:** Click **New workspace**, give it a **Name** (up to 80 characters) and click **Create**. You become its owner and land inside it.

<figure><img src="https://3835013762-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FCy5rSNtQmtqYCGzJlNEB%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-4506c69c34311bfe8829e9a0ba5cd8e2f438e606%2Fforms-workspaces-03-new-workspace-dialog.png?alt=media" alt="The New workspace dialog with a Name field, a Cancel button and a Create button"><figcaption><p>A new workspace starts empty: its own forms, members, branding and integrations.</p></figcaption></figure>

If you change your mind, click **Cancel**. Nothing is created until you click **Create**.

## The Workspaces list

**Step 3:** Open **Account settings** from the profile button and stay on **Workspaces**. Every workspace you belong to is a card with its name, its account code, your role and how many members it has.

<figure><img src="https://3835013762-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FCy5rSNtQmtqYCGzJlNEB%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-dde9edb94c5db97539797ad1ad7685cab6d11dab%2Fforms-workspaces-02-list-card.png?alt=media" alt="A workspace card showing the Current badge, the account code, Your role Owner, 1 member, and the Open and Manage buttons"><figcaption><p>Each card carries your role and two actions: <strong>Open</strong> and <strong>Manage</strong>.</p></figcaption></figure>

| Action     | What it does                                                                                                              |
| ---------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Open** | Switches into that workspace, the same as picking it in the switcher. It is disabled on the workspace you are already in. |
| **Manage** | Opens the workspace page with its members and invitations. You stay in your current workspace. |

Clicking anywhere else on the card is a shortcut to **Manage**. Use **Search workspaces** above the cards to filter a long list.

### Badges

| Badge       | What it means                                                                                                               |
| ----------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Current** | The workspace you are working in right now. |
| **Invited** | You were invited but have not accepted yet. The card only offers **Open**, because opening the workspace is how you accept. |

***

## Rename a workspace and copy its ID

**Step 4:** Click **Manage** on a workspace where you are an owner or an admin. The page opens on the **Members** tab, with the workspace details across the top.

<figure><img src="https://3835013762-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FCy5rSNtQmtqYCGzJlNEB%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-b78b38af6e29397f8702ef4f7bb87a9f4e51abd0%2Fforms-workspaces-04-workspace-detail.png?alt=media" alt="A workspace page showing the editable Workspace name field with a Save button and the meta line with Your role, member count, account code and the Workspace ID with a Copy ID button"><figcaption><p>Top left: the editable name. Below it: your role, the member count, the account code and the <strong>Workspace ID</strong>.</p></figcaption></figure>

* **Workspace name**: edit the field and click **Save**. You get **Workspace renamed.** The new name travels back to Dapta, so the Dapta app shows it too.
* **Workspace ID**: click **Copy ID** (the small copy icon) to put the ID on your clipboard. It is the same ID the Dapta app shows, so it is the fastest way to tell Dapta support which workspace you mean.
* The short code next to it (for example `k7m2xq`) is your **account code**. It is the first part of every public form URL.
* **All workspaces** at the top takes you back to the list.

> **⚠️ Note:** If you are a plain member of that workspace, the page reads **Only admins and owners of this workspace can manage its members.** and no name field is shown. If you open a workspace ID that is not yours, you get **That workspace is not among yours.**

***

## Good to know

* Renaming, adding people or changing roles here changes the workspace itself, not only its Forms side. Treat it as a shared team space.
* If Dapta cannot be reached for a moment, Forms keeps working and shows the last workspace list it knows about. Reload the page once the connection is back.
* Forms is free and has no seat limits, so adding another workspace or another teammate costs nothing.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.dapta.ai/dapta-forms/account/workspaces.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
