# Cancel Your Subscription

Cancel from the Plans tab in a few clicks, keep access until your billing period ends, and see what happens to credits, agents and data afterwards.

You can cancel your Dapta plan yourself, without writing to anyone. Cancelling stops the subscription from renewing; it does not delete your account, and it does not refund the period you already paid for.

## How do I cancel my Dapta plan and what happens next?

In **Billing & Plans**, open **Plans** and click **Cancel Plan** under your current plan. Tell us why you are leaving, book a call with the team if you want one, and confirm. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for, then it stops renewing. Remaining credits expire at that point; your account moves to the Free plan with your agents, flows and data intact.

## Before you cancel

Cancelling is the right move if you no longer need Dapta. If the reason is cost or volume, one of these may fit better:

* **Too many credits for what you use:** move to a smaller plan. See [Upgrade or downgrade your plan](/my-account/how-credits-work-in-dapta/change-your-plan.md).
* **A seasonal business or a paused project:** downgrade to Pro for the quiet months and upgrade again later. There is no pause feature.
* **Phone numbers or a WhatsApp line with Dapta as provider:** they stay in your account after you cancel, but calls and messages on them need credits. Tell Support if you want to keep them active.

## Step-by-step

**Step 1:** Click your profile at the bottom-left corner of the app and choose **Billing**, or open [app.dapta.ai/billing](https://app.dapta.ai/billing).

**Step 2:** Open the **Plans** tab and click **Cancel Plan** under the card marked **Current Plan**.

**Step 3:** Choose the reason you are leaving. It is required.

**Step 4:** Dapta offers a short call with the team before you go. Book it if you want to talk it through, or continue.

**Step 5:** Confirm the cancellation. Your plan card in the **Billing** tab now shows the date your access ends and an option to undo the cancellation.

## What happens after you cancel

| When                             | What happens                                                                                                                                                                     |
| -------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Right away | The subscription is set not to renew. You are not charged again. |
| Until the end of the paid period | Everything keeps working: agents, calls, messages, flows, credits. Use what you have left. |
| On the renewal date | The plan ends and the account moves to the Free plan with the status Cancelled. Remaining plan and purchased credits expire; you receive 2,000 courtesy credits to keep testing. |
| Afterwards | You can still log in. Your agents, flows, phone numbers, workspaces, contacts and call history stay in the account so you can come back. |

{% hint style="warning" %}
Credits belong to an active subscription. They are not carried over after the plan ends and they are not refunded, so spend them before your renewal date. See [Refund policy](/my-account/how-credits-work-in-dapta/refunds.md).

## Cancelling a free trial

If you are in the 7-day Pro trial, cancel from the same place, **Plans → Cancel Plan**, before the trial ends and your card is not charged. Cancelling on day 8 or later means the first month has already been billed.

If instead you want to keep Dapta and stop waiting, click **Pay now** on your plan card in the **Billing** tab. It ends the trial immediately and charges the first month. The 100,000 credits you received at the start of the trial are that first month's allowance, so the payment does not add another 100,000.

## Changed your mind?

* **Before the period ends:** open **Billing & Plans**, go to the **Billing** tab and click the reactivate option on your plan card. The scheduled cancellation is removed and nothing else changes.
* **After the plan has ended:** go to **Billing & Plans → Plans**, or use the plan picker that appears when you open the app, choose a plan and pay. You are taken to the secure checkout, where you can also update your card. Your account is reactivated with everything you left in it. Expired credits do not come back.

## Deleting your account and your data

Cancelling keeps your data so you can return. If you want the account and its data removed, cancel first and then ask Support to delete the account, from the **Support** chat in the app or by replying to your cancellation email.

* Deletion requests are logged as a ticket and processed by the tech team.
* Tell Support if you need a **data deletion certificate** signed by a Dapta legal representative; it can be issued once the deletion is complete.
* Workspaces cannot be deleted from the app. Ask Support to remove one, or leave it empty. Deleting the account removes everything in it, workspaces included.

Deletion is permanent. Download your call logs, contacts and exports before you ask for it.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.dapta.ai/my-account/how-credits-work-in-dapta/cancel-your-subscription.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
