# Upgrade or Downgrade Your Plan

Move between Pro, Scale-Up and Prime from the Plans tab: what happens to your credits, users and workspaces, and when the new price is charged.

You can change plan yourself at any time from **Billing & Plans**. Click your profile at the bottom-left corner of the app, choose **Billing** and open the **Plans** tab. Your current plan is marked **Current Plan**; every other card shows the action available.

## How do I upgrade or downgrade my Dapta plan?

Go to **Billing & Plans**, open **Plans** and click the button on the plan you want: **Upgrade Plan** to move up, **Downgrade Plan** to move down, or **Talk to Sales** for Prime and Enterprise. Upgrades apply immediately and charge the prorated difference. Downgrades take effect on your next billing date, so you keep your current plan until then.

## Upgrading

**Step 1:** In the **Plans** tab, pick **Monthly** or **Yearly** and click **Upgrade Plan** on the bigger plan.

**Step 2:** Confirm the payment with the card on file.

**Step 3:** The new plan is active as soon as the payment goes through. Its monthly credits are added to your balance on top of the credits you already had, and the higher limits on users and workspaces apply right away.

You are charged a prorated amount for the days left in your current period, not the full price. Your billing date moves to the day of the upgrade, so the next full charge is one month (or one year) later.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Prime and Enterprise** show **Talk to Sales** instead of an upgrade button. A member of the team sets the plan up with you and can arrange invoicing or a custom credit volume.
{% endhint %}

If you only need more credits this month and not a bigger plan, buy them instead: see [Buying extra credits](/my-account/how-credits-work-in-dapta/billing-and-invoices.md#buying-extra-credits).

## Downgrading

**Step 1:** In the **Plans** tab, click **Downgrade Plan** on the smaller plan.

**Step 2:** Tell us why you are moving down. The reason is required and helps the team improve the plan you are leaving.

**Step 3:** Dapta offers a short call with the team to check whether a smaller plan plus purchased credits, or a different setup, solves your problem. Book it if you want, or continue on your own.

**Step 4:** Confirm. Nothing changes until your next billing date: you keep your current plan, limits and credits until the end of the period you paid for. From the next billing date you are charged the lower price and receive the smaller plan's monthly credits.

Before you confirm, check that you fit inside the new plan:

| Moving to    | Users     | Workspaces | Credits a month |
| ------------ | --------- | ---------- | --------------- |
| **Pro**      | 5         | 5          | 100,000         |
| **Scale-Up** | Unlimited | 25         | 500,000         |

If you have more users or workspaces than the new plan allows, remove the extra ones before the next billing date so your team does not lose access unexpectedly.

### What happens to my credits when I downgrade?

Credits you already have, from your plan or purchased, stay in your balance when you downgrade. From the next renewal you receive the smaller plan's monthly allowance on top of what is left. If your balance looks wrong after the change, contact Support.

## Switching between monthly and yearly

Use the **Monthly** / **Yearly** switch in the **Plans** tab and select your plan again. Yearly billing costs 16.7% less. The switch works like an upgrade: you are charged right away, prorated for the days left in your current period, and your billing date becomes the day you switched.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.dapta.ai/my-account/how-credits-work-in-dapta/change-your-plan.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
